Happy Teachers Day for all the teachers in India, Teachers’ Day is the honor of the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan who was a scholar, recipient of Bharat Ratna, first Vice- President and second President of independent India. He was born on 5 September 1888. He was a grand advocate of education, statesman, scholar, and a great teacher. Radhakrishnan believed that “teachers should be the best minds in the country”.

Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan became President of India in the year 1962. He was approached by some of his friends and students who requested him to allow them to celebrate his birthday(i.e 5 September). Dr. Radhakrishnan responded, “Instead of observing my birthday discretely, it would be a privilege if 5th September is scrutinized as Teachers’ Day”. The appeal showed Dr. S. Radhakrishnan’s affection and dedication to the teaching career. Since 1962, his birthday has been celebrated in India as Teachers’ Day on 5 September every year.
