Review And Rating Of Dear Comrade:

99Telugu Rating: 2.75/5

Cast & Crew:

Director: Bharat Kamma
Writer: Bharat Kamma
Cast: Vijay Deverakonda, Rashmika Mandanna, Shruti Ramachandran
Music: Justin Prabhakaran
Cinematography: Sujith Sarang
Editing: Sreejith Sarang
Produced By: Mythri Movie Makers & Big Ben Cinemas

Story:

Chaitanya alias Bobby ( Vijay Deverakonda) is an aggressive student leader with communist ideology at Kakinada university. His radical approach towards society’s problems often brings him troubles. Aparna Devi alias Lilly ( Rashmika ) is a state-level cricketer and neighbour to Bobby in Kakinada. As you can guess, love blossoms between them but given the aggressive nature of Bobby, Lilly requests him to calm down and stay peaceful in life. While she is dual minded about marrying him, a serious issue happens to her career and personal life as well. How she overcomes the issue with the help of Bobby is rest of the story.

Analysis:

The first half opens with introductory scenes to encash Vijay’s image. When the actual story takes off as flashback, Hero Chaitanya ( Vijay Devarakonda ) has been shown as a grandson of a communist leader ‘Comrade Suryam‘. Living up to the legacy, Chaitanya is a communist student leader in the university.  One expects the hero to take up the different issue(s) in the society, but all he does is beating up roadside Romeos etc. Thus the core characterization mellows down in the initial phase itself. To entertain the audience, loverboy role comes out when Aparna ( Rashmika ) joins him as a neighbour. The chemistry between the lead pair is appealing, Overall, the first half ends on an average note. In the Second half, backdrop shifts to Kashmir for a while, then completely to Hyderabad. ‘ From this point, the story is focussed on Lilly alias Aparna Devi’s (Rashmika) hurdles in career. Till the end, it is about how the hero helps heroine on this aspect. Debutante writer, director Bharath Kamma has written a message-oriented story,  he ended up as a slow-paced narrator who missed the required cinematic magic in the screenplay. The scenes often appeared dull. The final output of the script is one that had lost the original flavour. Production values by Mythri, Big Ben Cinemas are excellent. This film scores well on technical values as well. Justin Prabhakaran’s soothing tunes and background music are a big plus. Sujith Saarang’s cinematography is good, especially in Kashmir episodes.

Performances :

Vijay Deverakonda stands out yet again with his performance as Bobby. There are few scenes designed only to bank on his image, he excelled. Rashmika handles first half super comfortably, in the second half where the story is heroine oriented she did just okay. Shruti Ramachandran who played Rashmika’s sister is a good looking girl for such roles, acted well.

Positives :

Three Melodious Songs, the chemistry between the lead pair Vijay Devarakonda and Rashmika and Production values.

Negatives :

Serious themed film starting to end with no creativity nor freshness in the script and restarts itself multiple times and dragged second half.

Verdict :

Dear Comrade is an average film with no solid positive points. Vijay’s stardom, Vijay – Rashmika’s chemistry and three songs are the saving grace for this film. The first half is passable and cannot be said the same for the second half.

For the first time, Mega hero Varun Tej played a full-length mass role in Harish Shankar’s directorial Valmiki which is the official remake of Tamil hit Jigarthanda. Pooja Hegde is the leading lady and Atharva Murali will be seen in a key role. With a decent post-release buzz, Valmiki is released today. Let’s check-in detailed.

Rest of the story is about the difficulties of the director while convincing the gangster, Ganesh accepts for directors wish and the rest is the story.

Analysis:

A hero with a class image has been roped in for an out and out mass character and his story is directed by a man who is struggling for the debut the film’s structure itself is unorthodox, Harish Shankar’s storytelling and narration is commendable that even its two hours and fifty-minute runtime seems negotiable except for the pre-climax. Valmiki is a film with all genres. Its like full meals for the audience except for the last 30 minutes. Director Harish Shankar shows his strength in comic scenes.

Varun Tej, performance as Gaddhalakonda Ganesh stuns the audience. Pooja Hegde is superb in “Elluvochi Godaramma” Song. Atharva Murali, Mirnalini Ravi done a decent job. Music: Anirudh Ravichandran

99Telugu.Com Rating 3/5

After “Jersey,” Natural Star Nani’s latest movie Gang Leader created a lot of buzz by promising trailers and it is released today worldwide. Let’s see whether Nani’s Gang Leader is lived up to the expectations or not.

Story:

Gang Leader has a different storyline.  A group of 5 members robs a bank and they were killed by an unknown person after the robbery. The murderer and the robbed money of 300 crores are unfindable for around 14 months. Five ladies of different age groups form a team to take revenge on the culprit. In that process, five ladies take help of story writer called Pencil Parthasaradhi( Nani). Rest of the story is how all five ladies and Pencil Parthasaradhi find the culprit and take revenge on him.

Analysis:

The bank robbery scene is simply superb. five ladies gang lead by senior actress Lakshmi has been active to take revenge on culprit. Nani and the 5 lady gang begin a search operation to trace the culprit.  Those scenes were a little bit boring and not up to the mark. When Deva(Karthikeya Gummakonda) is entered into the story as a racer, Pencil Parthasarathy suspects racer Deva is the one who did the robbery.

The second half is engaging, the director struggles to narrate the story in the first half. Second half was engaging with some twists though everything appears to be in the correct place, the audience will feel something is missing in the film. Production values by Mythri movies are good. Anirudh’s background score is good.

Natural star Nani performance as Pencil Parthasarathy is simply superb. His comedy timing, ease in acting are good to watch. Senior actress Lakshmi, Saranya, and heroine Priyanka all done a good job. Director Sukumar guest appearance is a highlight. Karthikeya Gummakonda ( RX 100 Fame) has done justice to his character as Villain.

Positives :

Nani’s performance

Different Storyline

Casting and their performances

Twists

Back Ground Music

Negatives :

Average First Half

Dull Narration

Songs

Verdict :

The “Gang leader” was a Decent Movie for Families.

Producer: Sai Venkatesh Gurram, Patchva
Banner: Bhavna Creations

99Telugu.Com Rating 1.5/5

Jodi is the latest film of Aadi and Jersey fame Shraddha Srinath. It is a romantic family drama that deals with the concept of gambling.

Story:

Kapil (Aadi) is a hardworking software employee whose father (Naresh) is a gambling addict. Kapil falls in love with Kanchana (Shraddha), but heroes father’s gambling addiction comes as a hurdle for his love. How their love wins is the rest of the story.

Analysis:

Director Viswanth filled Jodi movie with all the essential elements such as love, revenge, message, comedy. But his script turned out messy with none of the above elements holding the interest of the audience. The direction is very poor that even noted Tollywood actors seemed helpless throughout the film. Jodi tested the patience of the audience with poor narration and failed in all aspects. The second half is horrible and villains character is very dull with zero expressions. Aadi must blame himself for doing this film he has opted out for better script rather doing blindly.

Songs are really bad not even pleasant to listen nor picturized well. Cinematography is fine and the film has vibrant visuals with decent production values. Dialogues are very poor.

Positives :

Shraddha Srinath

Decent Production Values

Negatives:

Weak Story

Boring Screenplay

Too many songs

Second Half was Horrible

Verdict:

Unbearable
